We hope you’re doing well and looking forward to your next dram of something special. To help you know and understand us, it may be useful to quickly set the scene. We’ll keep it short though, promise!
Since we started out in 1983, we’ve believed in doing things differently. As unconventional whisky experts we seek out whisky in its purest form, prize flavour above everything else and give each bottling a curious name. We’re united and constant in our passion – to share some of the world’s best whiskies, to bring them to life, and to make our members proud to belong to the world’s most entertaining whisky club.

WHAT MAKES OUR WHISKY DIFFERENT?
We celebrate not only our club and community, but also the exploration of flavour and the sharing of our discoveries. That’s at the heart of everything we do. Our members enjoy exclusive access to whiskies hand-picked by our expert Tasting Panel, from over 140 distilleries in Scotland and beyond. We bottle them at cask strength and offer a constant variety.
How you drink them is entirely up to you.
WHAT THIS MEANS:
- Our whiskies are only available to our members
- Most of our whiskies come from a single cask, so they are never-to-be-repeated
- They are bottled as pure as they come undiluted, unchill-filtered and without colouring. It’s the perfect starting point for you to decide how you enjoy them
- All our whiskies are assessed by our expert Tasting Panel
- Our whiskies are sorted across 12 flavour profiles, to help you find what you are looking for
- With so many distilleries, there is a very wide variety of whisky types and styles to explore.

To help make the most of your SMWS membership, we’ve introduced a whole new level of tailor-made member services and personal guidance. With our members at the heart of everything we do, our DRAM-cierge is here for friendly advice, whether it’s a question about us, your membership or if you’d like us to share some whisky wisdom and recommendations. And if we don’t know the answer – we’ll track it down like a whisky ninja!
