Normally, today we’d be posting a ludicrously silly April Fool’s joke, but if we’re perfectly honest with you, we can’t bring ourselves to do it. The reality is…. the last year or so just haven’t been that fun in the fashion industry.
You will likely have seen lots of high-profile brands fall into administration, resulting in hundreds of job losses. As part of our business is wholesale, and as bigger retailers push to clear their own inflated stock pools, we’ve taken the hit. On the customer-facing side, our website has had to slash prices to clear stock in a market where the costs are only increasing. It’s incredibly tough, but we’re still here.
We have a good plan to turn everything around, and a great team of 15 people who are dedicated to keeping Playful Promises and all the sizes we make going. However, we ask for your patience as you may not find your size in stock in as many items as you’d like. We need to clear space in our warehouses to be able to pay for new styles in our wide size range in the coming months.
This year is our 20th anniversary, if you had asked us 10 years ago we’d likely have told you that we’d be throwing a big party, but in reality that rave is a bit of a sad trombone!
We appreciate every single one of our customers and we thank you for coming to us for your cheeky, fun, naughty, pretty or mischievous treats that make you feel powerful, confident, and simply…. playful. We promise we are serious about weathering these difficult conditions and spreading the word that bras really don’t have to be boring!
