Explore 70 stalls showcasing locally made crafts, gifts, and more. Make it a memorable Mother's Day with one-of-a-kind finds. The Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Nick Couldrey, will be attending the Indo-Pak Food Festival: Feast of Flavours on Sunday 25 February, at 12 noon. The free-entry, fun and family-friendly celebration of authentic traditional Indian and Pakistani cuisine takes place at Places Leisure Eastleigh. Eastleigh Active is back - register for Free SwimmingThe Eastleigh Active programme of Free Swimming and Activity Sessions is back for a second year. It's aimed at helping children and young people across the Borough to escape the everyday this April. The programme will run from Wednesdays to Fridays, 3-5 and 10-12 April across the two Easter holiday weeks for five to16 year-olds. It sees the return of free popular activities such as Golf, Netball and Cycles4All. Activity Sessions are subsidised at £3.50 per session, and only £1 for families on Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support. Free Swimming pre-registration opens this Monday (26 February), Activity Sessions have staggered booking release dates of 4 and 6 of March. More than 260 local people took up the exciting chance to sponsor and plant a tree at Itchen Valley Country Park over three planting days in January and February. With a further 31 sponsored trees that were planted by the Country Parks team, bringing the total to 151 new trees for the woodland. The planting days form part of Plant Eastleigh - our drive for residents, businesses, and community organisations to plant 160,000 more trees in Eastleigh Borough by 2030. There’s a chance for residents and local organisations to have their say on a far-reaching strategy aimed at boosting biodiversity in Eastleigh Borough. The Council’s strategy sets out the approach for the protection, maintenance and enhancement of biodiversity and our natural environment over the next ten years. Almost 500 trees will be planted across Eastleigh Borough up to the end of March. The work gets under way as the Council works towards its target of 160,000 new trees in the Borough by the end of the decade, as part of the Plant Eastleigh scheme. Spring has sprung in the Borough's theatresWith a feast of comedy, music, drama, cinema, classes and fun for all the family, The Point Eastleigh and The Berry Theatre in Hedge End are continuing their tradition of top-notch entertainment, with some big-name acts coming to the Borough, including David Baddiel (pictured). Chat and stroll on Hamble CommonWednesday 28 February, 10.30am-12 noon. Walk through Hamble Common nature reserve with a friendly group led by an experienced ranger to learn about nature and your local surroundings. Needle Felt Workshop at Itchen ValleyTuesday 26 March, 10am-12 noon. An Easter inspired workshop for beginners using a needle felt tool. In this two-hour workshop, you will be taught how to create a small rabbit to gift to a loved one or to add to your Easter decorations! £16 - refreshments included Treetop Adventure Plus is all about embracing the 'more' – more speed, more air, more freedom, more height, and, of course, more thrills! Discover the Treetop Adventure course today at our Itchen Valley Country Park this spring... Make sure your family is protected against measles Measles is highly infectious and can be passed on even before a rash appears. Make sure your family is protected from becoming seriously unwell from measles by making sure you are up to date with your MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccinations.
