Eastleigh Active - bookings open next week!
The Eastleigh Active programme of Free Swimming and Activity Sessions is back for a second year. It's aimed at helping children and young people across the Borough to escape the everyday this Easter.
The programme, for five to16 year-olds, will run from Wednesdays to Fridays across the two Easter holiday weeks, 3-5 and 10-12 April. Activity Sessions are subsidised at £3.50 per session, and are only £1 for families on Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support.

Itchen Valley Country Park: countryside on your doorstep
Residents around Eastleigh Borough can look forward to a spectacular springtime at Itchen Valley Country Park. With bluebells arriving between late April and early May, make sure to mark the dates in your calendar and plan a relaxing walk through the ancient woodlands.

Mother’s Day at Itchen Valley

Visitors can enjoy a relaxing day at Itchen Valley this Mother’s Day. After a springtime stroll enjoy a slice of Victoria sponge cake with tea and coffee for £5 or scones with jam and cream with tea or coffee for £4.50. Booking not required.
Needle Felt Workshop
Tuesday 26 March, 10am-12 noon.
An Easter-inspired workshop for beginners using a needle felt tool. In this two-hour workshop, you will be taught how to create a small rabbit to gift to a loved one, or to add to your Easter decorations. £16 - with refreshments included.

Work on the major transformation, that is bringing exciting new features to Itchen Valley Country Park, is nearing completion. Some attractions may be temporarily closed off to allow work to take place, and it may be muddy in some areas.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Eastleigh Borough Council by taking part in our '50 Year Logo' competition!
The winning design will be featured all year, and the artist will receive a £50 theatre voucher from the Mayor.

Third decade of real-terms Council Tax cut
The Council is entering a third decade of delivering a real-term cut in its element of residents’ Council Tax bills. It is now the 21st year in a row that we have delivered a falling rate in real terms.
At the budget-setting meeting this week, the Full Council approved a £5 annual increase on the average Council Tax bill for Eastleigh Borough Council for 2024-25. This year the average Band D Council Tax for the Borough is £141.66 or £2.72 per week.
Less than 7% of the overall Council Tax bill for Eastleigh Borough residents goes to the Borough Council.

A&E consultation
A consultation on proposals to discontinue accident and emergency services at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and relocate them to a new facility near Basingstoke, or within the existing Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital, runs until 17 March.
Eastleigh Councillors have
expressed concern [ about the proposals as both hospitals are more than 20 miles away from the northern parishes of the Borough, which include Chandler’s Ford, Hiltingbury, Bishopstoke, Allbrook & North Boyatt, Boyatt Wood and Fair Oak & Horton Heath.
