As the conflict continues, it’s important to remember that Ukrainians still need our help and support.
In the two years since the full-scale invasion began, many Ukrainians have moved to our county. A lot already have jobs and their children attend schools, but need a little more time and help before they are ready to live by themselves. That’s where hosts play such an important role.

Visibility for the trans community: discrimination, pioneers and resources

Before Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) existed, the only day dedicated to the trans community was the Transgender Day of Remembrance - a day to remember all the trans people who have lost their lives to violence and suicide. However, in 2009, American transgender activist Rachel Crandall wanted to change that. Rachel introduced TDOV to also remember the successes, contributions, and resilience of trans people.

Emmeline Pankhurst, the political activist who organised the suffragette movement in Great Britain; Amelia Earhart, the aviation pioneer and the first solo woman to fly across the Atlantic; Maya Angelou, the acclaimed writer and best-selling author and of course, a prominent civil rights activist...

Cliff collapses prompt renewed safety warnings
Visitors to East Sussex’s stunning coastline are being urged to stay safe after two significant cliff collapses in the space of just two weeks.
The warning comes as families prepare for the school break, and after huge sections of cliff along the coast collapsed last month.

Counterfeit shoe seller must pay back £60k or face jail
A market trader who was caught selling counterfeit trainers, shoes and boots at Rye Market has been ordered to pay back £60,000 or face prison time.
Sukhdeav Singh, 58, of City Way in Rochester, Kent pleaded guilty in February 2023 to 13 counts relating to trademark theft for having in his possession for sale counterfeit footwear with a retail value, if they were genuine, of over £170,000.
