Foster carers in the East Riding [
]
More foster carers are needed to help care for children and young people in the East Riding.
Sometimes children are unable to live with their own family. This may be due to a crisis in the family, ill health, relationship difficulty or bereavement. It could also be because the child needs to be protected. This is where foster carers come in, providing a safe, secure, and loving home. The time children stay may vary from day care or overnight stays to regular planned weekends or holiday stays, to weeks, months or years.
Anyone thinking about becoming a foster carer will want to consider how it will work financially.
Our rates will increase from 8 April, in recognition of the valued role foster carers take. The financial offer for foster families will be amongst the highest in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

We're seeking views on a proposal to create additional pedestrian and public seating space in Market Place, Pocklington.
The area identified for consideration is the car parking surrounding the Jubilee Monument between Deans Lane and St Peter's Square, which currently provides eight standard parking bays and one motorcycle bay.
This scheme would be funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
