New summer festival for children and young people to launch in East Riding libraries

East Riding Libraries is delighted to announce the launch of its brand new festival for children and young people, Live 'n Loud in Libraries.
With a varied and exciting programme - featuring live music, forensics, activities, author visits and much more - the festival runs from Monday 22 July until Saturday 31 August.
Tickets go on sale on Tuesday 4 June at 8am.
With 66 live events running across the summer for all ages to enjoy, there is something for all the family to get involved in, with all tickets being kept as low-a-cost as possible. One adult also goes free with each ticket purchased.

Vacanices have arisen in the East Wolds and Coastal Ward and the South East Holderness Ward.
A by-election to fill each vacancy will take place if two written requests are received (for each Ward) from local government electors in the local authority area. The
requests need to be submitted to the Proper Officer.

*Appeal for objects for Burton's factory exhibition at Goole Museum*

Staff and volunteers at Goole Museum are currently working on an upcoming exhibition about Goole's Burton's clothing factory and its workers.
To help tell this story, the museum is asking for people to loan or donate objects relating to working life at the factory, which can then be displayed as part of the exhibition.

Payments of £200 are now available to residents on low incomes in the East Riding through the latest round of the Household Support Fund, a national scheme.
As part of its Help For Households campaign, we're encouraging people to apply for the money, which is designed to help those most in need, who are struggling with energy, water, food and grocery bills.

You may be eligible for Healthy Start vouchers from the NHS, to help buy fruit, vegetables and milk, if you are:
* on low income
* more than 10 weeks pregnant or have a child under 4
If you do not want to buy cow’s milk, fresh, frozen, or tinned fruit and vegetables, you could use the vouchers to buy infant formula or fresh, dried, or tinned pulses.
