Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner elections

The official notice for the upcoming Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner election was released this week. The election is set for Thursday 2 May 2024 and eligible voters within the Humberside Police force area can participate. All eligible electors will receive poll cards over the next few days.
The Election Act 2022 now requires voters to present an acceptable form of photographic evidence to be able to vote in person at this election. More information is available from the electoral commission at Accepted forms of photo ID | Electoral Commission [

Devolution proposal to be submitted to Secretary of State
Councillor Anne Handley
Hull and East Riding Unitary Leaders Board have approved the submission of Hull and East Yorkshire's Devolution Proposal to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
Over 5,800 people shared their views and feedback on the proposals during an eight-week consultation, giving broad support for devolution to Hull and East Yorkshire.
The proposal, along with a summary of the consultation results, will now be submitted for consideration to the Secretary of State.

Bridlington Park and Ride and land trains are back
Bridlington Land Trains
The popular Bridlington Park and Ride bus service is back for the spring and summer and will be running until Sunday, 3 November, seven days a week.
Passengers can choose to travel on the Park and Ride bus or on a scenic land train - the land train is in operation weekends only until 20 May. It will then run daily until 29 September, when it finishes for the season.

The Wolds Explorer bus service launches this weekend
The Wolds
A new bus service will be launched to give walkers and others access to the stunning landscapes and vibrant villages in the Yorkshire Wolds.
Service 200, the Wolds Explorer, will run on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays from Easter to the end of September between Pocklington and Thixendale, serving the villages of Millington, Huggate and Fridaythorpe along its route.
