** Local Walking and Cycling Infrastructure Plan for East Herts - have your say!
------------------------------------------------------------
In order to make it easier, safer and more enjoyable to travel in the district, we will soon be asking for your views on the East Herts Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan draft route network map.
An LCWIP is a plan that will identify important local routes for people walking, using a wheelchair or riding a bike. When we have identified these important routes, we will use the latest endorsed guidance to suggest ways to improve them and make them safer.
LCWIPs aim to give communities more options for how they travel, so that you and your families can go to work, school, go shopping or carry out other everyday journeys on foot, by bike or in a wheelchair, and feel safe.
You can register your interest in taking part by clicking the button below.

** Tick awareness this summer
------------------------------------------------------------
Ticks are small, spider-like creatures that feed on the blood of animals and humans. During this feeding process, they can transmit pathogens that can result in infections.
You could be exposed to ticks whenever you spend time outdoors, including when in your garden or the local park. Tick bites can occur on any part of the body and more than one tick can be attached at a time
To avoid infection, it is important to remove ticks safely and as quickly as possible. The safest way to remove a tick is by using a pair of fine-tipped tweezers or a tick removal tool.
If you begin to feel unwell with flu-like symptoms, or develop a spreading circular rash (which usually appears within 1 to 4 weeks after being bitten), you should contact your GP or promptly dial NHS 111.
