Give us feedback on our Listening Council report

We're committed to informing, engaging and consulting with our residents, businesses and stakeholders across East Herts in the most effective way possible. This includes straight-forward, jargon-free communications, reaching out to those whose voices can sometimes go unheard and inviting - and acting upon - feedback.

To this end, we have produced a report which explains the key planks of this initiative and how we can best achieve our aims. We're running a consultation alongside this so that you can provide us with feedback on what's proposed.

Many thanks in advance for your participation.

Neighbourhood plan for Castle Ward Plus, Hertford

Neighbourhood plans allow communities to have a direct say about challenges they have identified in their local area. These can include the development of residential housing developments, small businesses, local shops and other amenities, as well as the preservation of green spaces.

The overall aim is to ensure that future developments make a positive and beneficial contribution to the wider community and are supported by improvements to local services and infrastructure. In Hertford, Neighbourhood Plans have already created for Bengeo, Kingsmead and Sele and now it's the turn of the communities covered by Castle, Kingsmead West and Bengeo South wards.

Hertford Town Council is proposing that this area be known as Hertford Castle Plus. Once confirmed, the process of creating a Neighbourhood Plan for Hertford Castle Plus will begin. We will ensure that residents are kept fully up to date on next steps and how they can participate.

You can view and comment on the Hertford Castle Plus Neighbourhood Area Designation Application via our website.
