** Parks In East Herts
------------------------------------------------------------
Parks provide us with places to enjoy the open air, to keep fit and to play - they offer a brief escape from the hustle and bustle of normal life. We are incredibly proud of the parks in our district.
We have invested in and managed our parks and open spaces to ensure they remain enjoyable and are able to meet the wide needs of the communities that they are at the heart of.

** Cattle In Our Parks
------------------------------------------------------------
The Council currently grazes cattle at three of its parks: Hartham Common in Hertford, Pishiobury Park in Sawbridgeworth, and Red, White and Blue to the north of Grange Paddocks in Bishop’s Stortford.
Familiar to residents of East Herts from previous stays in our parks, traditional English Longhorns and British Whites are periodically introduced to these spaces, and are to be managed by expert breeders and graziers.
These cattle will provide an extensive grazing system, keeping down invasive tall grasses, scrub and sapling trees in environmentally sensitive areas.

** Play Areas In Our Parks
------------------------------------------------------------
Public play areas provide valuable opportunities for exercise and education, affording physical, social and cognitive development, whilst also encouraging independence in children.
We have over 50 play areas across our district’s parks, including the recently upgraded play area in Bishop’s Park which has been specifically designed to serve older children and teenagers, with a focus on creating a welcoming and appealing space for girls.
