We're ready for business!
New strategy lays out our business-friendly plan for boosting the economy
A new strategy will make sure we are a business-friendly council that creates jobs, supports people into work and attracts investment to the district.
The Regeneration and Economy Strategy, approved on Thursday, outlines what we will do to help make East Hampshire a thriving, prosperous and environmentally-friendly district.
It will focus on maximising the economic contribution to the district from assets we already own, such as Woolmer Trading Estate, in Whitehill & Bordon, or the Ordnance Business Park, in Liphook, and to secure investments, create jobs and deliver homes on other assets that are underused or no longer required.

Cllr Robert Mocatta, EHDC’s Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Prosperity, said: “This strategy builds upon the progress we have already made and sets out a clear series of actions and a measurable set of outcomes to make sure we’re making a real difference to our communities.
“We want to deliver vibrant places which instil pride, attract investment and where communities can thrive.
“By focusing on creating high quality jobs and supporting residents with the skills they need in the modern workplace we can make sure we are as business-friendly as we can be.”

Through working with partners we will deliver vibrant places which instil pride, attract investment and where communities thrive and deliver quality jobs to maximise East Hampshire’s economic potential
*Boosting business growth*
We will ensure we are a business-friendly council and actively support our key growth sectors – advanced manufacturing, engineering, scientific, technical, creative industries and the rural economy
*Skills for the future *
We will support residents into work with the skills that modern industry demands, expanding apprenticeships and deepening partnership working
*Sustainable connectivity*
We will work with delivery partners to connect people and businesses through digital infrastructure and sustainable transport
