Business grants up to £20,000 now available

Apply online for UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) grants for SME, Startup, and rural businesses.

We have been allocated just over £6 million via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) for use within the Dorset Council county area (excludes BCP area), with funds available for projects to complete by December 2024.

We are accepting applications for grants of between £2,000 and £20,000, towards: 

  • digital technology and innovation 
  • research and development 
  • business growth and exports 
  • rural enterprise and diversification 
  • Startups (businesses in 1-36 months of trading) 

Grants require 100% match funding with both capital and revenue funding available.

Dorset Council received a total of 64 applications in the previous round of the UKSPF and REPF grants. 33 awards totalling over £250,000 in business support grants and over £80,000 for community infrastructure grants were made, with each project supported and located within the Dorset Council area.

These business projects included, but were not limited to:

  • Modern and low emission back-up generator for a rural food business
  • Innovative machinery to promote new markets, improve sustainability and increase economic growth
  • Digital and e-commerce solutions for improved market delivery and customer participation
  • Machinery to expand business growth and employability.
