Hello,
In this week's newsletter, read about these stories and more:
UK General Election on Thursday, 4 July
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday, 4 July. Remember to bring along an accepted form of photo ID.
Where's my polling station?
Find out where your polling station is and what candidates are standing for election by using the Electoral Commission's postcode search tool.
All polling cards were passed to Royal Mail for first class delivery on 7 June. Due to delays with the post, several residents have not yet received their polling cards. You do not need a polling card to vote.
Postal votes
If you applied to vote by post and you haven't received your postal vote paperwork by the weekend, please call East Devon District Council's Customer Service team on 01395 571529 or email elections@eastdevon.gov.uk.
New postal voting rules mean that you will need to fill out a form if you hand in postal votes at a polling station or a council office. You can't hand in more than five postal ballot packs for others (plus your own).
Election results
East Devon District Council will be sharing the results for the Exmouth and Exeter East constituency and the Honiton and Sidmouth constituency in next week's Residents' Update newsletter, through the East Devon app, on social media, and on the council website.
Reminder: put your recycling and waste out before 6am
Many of us will be enjoying the warmer weather, however, it makes the job even harder than normal for recycling and waste collections crews.
Please put your bins, boxes and bags out the night before, or by 6am on the day of collection, to help crews complete most of their rounds in the cooler part of the day.
Thanks for helping the council look after collection crews.

Replacing the roof, upgrading the lighting, and improving ventilation at Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre will make games even more enjoyable.
These refurbishments follow last year's upgrade of the carpeted indoor courts to cushioned acrylic surfaces, also funded through East Devon District Council's Leisure Strategy.
Scaffolding will be erected in the week commencing 1 July. LED Community Leisure have shared details of how disruption will be minimised, with the tennis programme adapted during the refurbishment work.

Simple and realistic healthy lifestyle tips that can be incorporated into busy family life, can be found in a helpful new leaflet developed by LED's Outreach Team.
The team worked closely with local primary schools to identify what would be most valuable and useful to encourage and support families to be healthier. You can listen to an audio version of the leaflet on YouTube, read by Year Six students at Littleham Primary School.

Pop-up community events prove popular
Since April, more than 100 residents have visited pop-up events including a pre-loved clothes swap, a community gardening session, and a barbecue, hosted by East Devon District Council’s Housing Communities team. Easter Egg Hunts, storytelling, and trying homemade nettle soup are some of the activities that families said were a “great idea”, with a “lovely atmosphere”.
Tenants told us that “council officers [were] all so dedicated” and that it was good to meet the team face-to-face in a less formal setting. These pop-up events provide an opportunity for council teams to discuss the support that they offer to tenants and how residents can get involved with their housing service.
Valuable advice on topics such as looking after mental health and saving money on energy bills has also been shared by local partner organisations.
The team have planned a cream tea afternoon in Budleigh Salterton for August and are looking forward to meeting more residents.
