Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced that the UK General Election will take place on Thursday 4 July 2024.
East Devon residents will elect their Member of Parliament for the Exmouth and Exeter East constituency, and the Honiton and Sidmouth constituency.
To have your say in the election, you will need to register to vote.
If you will be voting in person, an accepted form of photo ID is required. If you don't have this, you can apply for photo ID to vote.
Alternatively, you can apply to vote by post or by proxy.

Sidmouth International Jazz & Blues Festival

Three days of exceptional live music will be taking place on a dedicated outdoor stage with five acts per day between Saturday, 25 May, to Monday, 27 May.
There will also be free music workshops, masterclasses, jam sessions, live music at fringe venues, street music and much more.
Live music at Sidmouth's Connaught Gardens
Sidmouth Town Band will begin their performances at Connaught Gardens this weekend, and they will be playing every Sunday night from 26 May until 1 September, starting at 8pm.
The South Berks Concert Band will bring show tunes and light classical music to Connaught Gardens on Tuesday, 28 May from 3pm until 4.30pm.
Ottery St Mary Silver Band are back on 30 May, with performances every other Thursday from 7.45pm.
Budleigh Salterton Gala Week
There are lots of fun events raising money for charity planned for Budleigh Lions' Gala Week, from Saturday, 25 May to Sunday, 2 June. Help fund what they do by purchasing a programme from a local business.
Community Hubs celebrate Cinco de Mayo
Earlier this month, East Devon's Community Hubs celebrated Cinco de Mayo, with Mariachi band music, decorations, eating Mexican food, making flower headbands, and playing games.
There are more fun, free activities coming up at the Community Hubs, including an Indian Block Printing Workshops at Lymebourne Park in Sidmouth on Thursday, 30 May.

Expand your skills in recruitment, induction and training for volunteers

A free training session for volunteer coordinators is being run in celebration of the upcoming Volunteer Week in June by Arts and Culture East Devon and East Devon's Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Support Service.
This session will be delivered by experienced trainers from Devon Communities Together at Blackdown House in Honiton on Wednesday 5 June from 10am – 1pm.
