Want to make your voice heard when it comes to bin collections?
Over the past few months we’ve been reminding people what goes in what bin when it comes to recycling in Doncaster. We’ve received lots of comments on the way we collect your recycling at the kerbside.
We’d like to know more about what you think of the waste and recycling service provided in Doncaster and whether or not you would welcome any changes to the way we collect recyclable materials from you.
Please take our short survey and your feedback will help us when designing the way we collect your waste in the future.
National Carers Week
This week we've been celebrating National Carers Week by shining a light on our carers across Doncaster who do an incredible job of supporting their families and friends.
For instance, here’s Alan, his wife Trudy and son Nigel, enjoying a day at Yorkshire Wildlife Park with the Doncaster Carers Centre walking group. Alan cares for both his wife and son.
If you are an unpaid carer then please make sure you are getting the right support to help you.
Airport Update
City of Doncaster Council is due to take the next steps in its process to appoint an operator later in the summer.
The council’s cabinet is being asked to approve delegated powers to the Director of Corporate Resources in consultation with the Mayor to appoint an operator who will be allocated preferred bidder status before a final contract can be concluded later in the year.
Looking for an apprenticeship in Doncaster?

Euro 2024: Domestic Abuse Awareness
The Euros are kicking off today (with England's first game on Sunday) and while most people will be enjoying a month of football, for some it can be an anxious time due to the heightened risk of domestic abuse.
Research shows that incidents of domestic abuse rise sharply during major football tournaments and while sporting events do not cause domestic abuse, for some, the heightened emotions combined with alcohol consumption, can lead to violence, abuse and fear.
If you are experiencing domestic abuse, you can complete a self-referral form for help and support. If you are concerned for someone you know, then please direct them to the Domestic Abuse for help and support.
Celebrating Learning Disability Week in Doncaster
Next week is Learning Disability Week and our Community Autism & Learning Disability Team (CALDT) is holding a special event on Wednesday 19 June to acknowledge and promote the fantastic local groups that help people with autism and learning disabilities. It will be an opportunity to meet friends and find out what advice and support is available in Doncaster.
The event takes place at The Point from 12-4pm and you can book your free tickets over on Eventbrite.
You can find out more about CALDT at their Facebook page or visit the council’s web page.
