Great British Spring Clean 2024 is all polished up
Dozens of community groups, schools, businesses and residents have done themselves proud as part of another incredibly successful Great British Spring Clean!
* More than *90 litter picks* were held across Doncaster
* *1,600 volunteers got involved*, clocking up more than 1,700 miles
* *1,600 bags of litter were collected* by participants and then disposed of by the Council’s Street Scene teams
* *1,100 litter pickers* and *777 hi-viz vests* were loaned out
There were some eye-opening finds, such as a garden parasol, a water pistol and an air fryer (very 2024) - please dispose of items like these at HWRCs!
We thank all the volunteers who safely collected litter from their local streets, parks and open spaces.

Recycle Right
Over the last few weeks we’ve seen more residents putting the correct recyclable materials in the correct bin.
Thanks to this, you’ve contributed to a *fall in our contamination rates*. This in turn helps to keep costs down, which can then be spent on other council services.
A reminder that paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, aerosols, cans, tins and foil are ALL accepted.
