Next Weekend: Doncaster gets ready to celebrate Armed Forces Day
Final preparations are taking place for the celebrations to honour the Armed Forces community next Saturday, 29 June!
A parade will take place at 11am through the city centre followed by entertainment for the whole family at Elmfield Park!
As well as music, rides and attractions, one of the highlights of the day will be a special flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (subject to approval on the day).
General Election - less than two weeks away
With less than two weeks until the general election, you may be confused about which constituency you’re voting in on July 4.
Last year, a review was undertaken by the Boundary Commission for England, which means there are now new Parliamentary constituency boundaries.
You can find further details of which constituency your area falls here:
Further information on the General Election, including how to vote and details of those candidates running for election in your area, can be found on our webpage here:
Bentley resident's smoke-free journey used in South Yorkshire campaign
After smoking for quite some time Jayde, from Bentley, decided to stop smoking after a close family member fell ill.
With the support of her family and her local stop smoking services, Jayde was able to stop smoking for the benefit of her own mental and physical health.
To find out more about the free local support available, you can visit the Smokefree Starts website.
The People’s Palace of Possibility comes to Doncaster
- When: 28 June – 14 July 2024, Wednesday – Sunday, 11am – 4pm
-
Where: Danum Gallery, Library and Museum
The People’s Palace of Possibility is an outdoor installation which asks how we find energy for change, despite our fear and anger about the future. It is a place for connection and solidarity: sitting down and sharing a cuppa with a stranger, listening to a talk, taking part in a workshop, feasting together and imagining alternative futures.
Want to make your voice heard when it comes to bin collections?
Over the past few months we’ve been reminding people what goes in what bin when it comes to recycling in Doncaster. We’ve received lots of comments on the way we collect your recycling at the kerbside.
We’d like to know more about what you think of the waste and recycling service provided in Doncaster and whether or not you would welcome any changes to the way we collect recyclable materials from you.
Please take our short survey and your feedback will help us when designing the way we collect your waste in the future.
Have you seen your new SEND Local Offer?
It’s the single place you can find all the tools, advice and guidance for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) in Doncaster.
As part of Learning Disability Awareness Week - we’re proud to have acted on what Doncaster families have told us they want to see from their Local Offer and what they value most for their loved ones to ensure children in young people in Doncaster are seen, have a strong voice and are valued, in order to achieve their full potential.
Visit the Local Offer website for more information:
Euro 2024: Domestic Abuse Awareness

If you’re concerned about your safety, call 101 or in an emergency ALWAYS call 999.
