National Hedgerow Week

Did you know that Hedgerows are the UK’s largest wildlife habitat? There are nearly 400,000km of hedgerow in England – enough to go around the entire planet almost 10 times! Sadly however, around 190,000km of hedgerow have disappeared since the 1950s.

Over the past few months, many of our residents have taken advantage of Doncaster’s Free Tree Giveaway to plant their own hedgerows and help create their own garden greenery.

Testimonials include Martin, who planted his hedge trees to “fit in perfectly with the wildlife area at the bottom of our garden,” and Vanessa, who used the trees to “make extra habitat and extra shade.”
