Jerwood Foundation Accepting Applications for Summer 2024 Funding Round

Jerwood Foundation is offering grants to UK-based organisations that focus on making art available for public benefit and promoting emerging talent in the arts.

Up to £2 million is available per year to support a variety of projects and activities that promote the arts for public benefit. 

The next deadline for applications is 5pm on 14th June, 2024.

Hubbub and Starbuck’s ‘Eat it Up Fund'

The Eat it Up Fund grant fund is offering six grants of £60,000 each to support innovative ideas to tackle food waste in the UK.

Priority will be given to prevention and edible recovery/ repurposing over initiatives that do not result in food being kept within the human food chain.

Applications will be accepted from any organisation that can prove they are an officially constituted body, registered in the UK.

A Q&A webinar will be held on 4th June, 2024 (11:00 to 11:45am). Registration is required for this Zoom session.

The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 5pm on 14th June. 2024.

Eat it Up Fund Details

Funding to Provide Musical Moments of Joy for People Living with Dementia

Music for All is offering small grants of up to £2,000 to local organisations that use music making to support people living with dementia and their carers.

The funding can support costs associated with rehearsals/performance(s) including transport for participants.

Priority will be given to applications from underrepresented communities.

The deadline for applications is 8am on 17th June, 2024. 

The Power of Music Fund Details

HGV Parking and Driver Welfare Grant Scheme

Through the HGV Parking and Driver Welfare Grant Scheme, operators of truck-stops and roadside services can apply for government funding to carry out improvements to driver facilities.

Applicants can apply for grants of up to £315,000 per site to invest in capital improvement projects.

Businesses that operate HGV driver facilities at independent truck stops, motorway service areas, trunk road service areas, or local authority truck stops may apply.

Applications for Round 3 must be submitted by 19th June, 2024.

Women’s Urgent Support Fund Opens for Round 2

Smallwood Trust, with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, has opened the second round of its £5.43 million funding programme to support organisations providing frontline services for women to manage the impact of the cost-of-living crisis.

Grants of up to £20,000 per year for three years will enable organisations to respond to the spike in demand of priority basic needs from women who are most at risk of poverty, because of the cost-of-living-crisis.

Grants can pay for core and frontline staff salaries, running costs/overheads, services and goods, and other organisational costs.

Smallwood Trust will host an ‘How to Apply’ webinars on 13th June, 2024 (11am to 12pm). Registration is required and can be done via the Smallwood Trust website.

The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 5pm on 21st June, 2024.

Women’s Urgent Support Fund Round 2 Details

Home Office Invites Applications to New £3m Transition to eVisa Fund

The Home Office is offering grant funding to a wide range of civil society organisations to provide direct support to vulnerable people as they make the transition from physical immigration documents to eVisas by the end of 2024.

Applications can be made either for a national support grant, which will be awarded to a single organisation in each of the four nations, or a community support grant of up to £30,000 each.

To be eligible, organisations must have at least two years’ experience supporting individuals with complex needs.

Bids will be welcome from single organisations or multi-organisation consortiums and partnerships. (Local Authorities are not eligible for this funding.)

The first step in the bidding process is to register on the Home Office Jaggaer portal. Once approved, which takes about 24 hours, applicants will need to send an email requesting access to the required documents.

The deadline for applications is 12pm on 19th June, 2024.

Transition to eVisa Fund Details

 

Veolia Environmental Trust Reopens for Applications

Veolia Environmental Trust is offering grants to constituted, not-for-profit organisations, local authorities, and environmental bodies enrolled with ENTRUST to support projects that make improvements to community facilities and the natural environment in communities located near a qualifying Veolia site.

There are typically four funding rounds per year. 

The next deadline for applications is 12pm on 27th June, 2024.

Funding to Boost CPR Training in Deprived Areas 

Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) is offering small grants as part of its 'Restart a Heart' 2024 campaign to help educate people about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to use a defibrillator with the aim of saving lives.

Small charities, community groups, faith groups and community interest companies can apply for grants of up to £1,500 to raise awareness around CPR and defibrillator use.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on 28th June, 2024.

‘Restart a Heart‘ 2024 Campaign Details

Wolfson Foundation’s ‘Funding for Places’ Grants Programme Opens for Second Round

Twice a year, the Wolfson Foundation accepts applications from charitable organisations and educational establishments who are seeking grants for capital initiatives, ie buildings (new build or refurbishment) and equipment.

The Foundation funds a broad range of organisations working across the fields of education, science and medicine, health and disability, heritage and arts and humanities.

The size of the grants varies across the different programme areas.

The minimum grant available is generally £15,000 and match funding is required for projects where the total project cost is above £50,000. 

The deadline for Stage 1 applications is 11.59pm on 1st July, 2024.

‘Funding for Places’ Details

Funding to Help Improve the Mental  Health of Young Women

The Pilgrim Trust’s five-year, £5 million Young Women in Mind Programme is open to applications from UK registered charities. 

Grants of between £60,000 and £100,000 spread across three years are available.

The funding is for mental health services that support young women with existing and increasingly entrenched mental health problems.

There is a two-stage application process.

The deadline for Stage One applications is 8th July, 2024.

Funding Programme to Help People Move Towards Paid Employment

Each year, the Society Foundation offers a small number of micro-grants of up to £2,500 to support people from the following groups move toward paid employment:

  • The recently homeless or vulnerably housed.
  • Ex-offenders.
  • Young people (16-24 years old) not in employment, education or training (NEET).

The funding can be used for:

  • Capacity building activities, including IT infrastructure and equipment.
  • Staff training and development
  • External consultancy/support.

Applications are accepted from UK registered charities and Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIO). 

The 2024 application window opens on 3rd June and closes at 12pm on 8th July, 2024.

Innovate UK Launches £4m Women in Innovation Awards

Innovate UK (IUK) is offering up to 50 Women in Innovation Awards to women entrepreneurs within SMEs across the UK.

IUK wants to support women who are at a critical stage with their business, where an award will enable them to take a major step forward.

IUK has allocated up to £4 million to fund innovation projects in this competition. The winners will receive a £75,000 grant and bespoke business support.

Applications are open to women founders, co-founders or senior decisions maker within a UK registered SME that has been registered on Companies House for at least 12 months.

The deadline for applications is 11am on 10th July, 2024.

Women in Innovation Award Details

Hilden Charitable Trust

The Fund aims to address disadvantage by supporting causes which are less likely to raise funds from public subscription or statutory services.

Applications will be accepted from Registered Charities, Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs), Community Interest Companies (CICs) and Charitable Companies.

Grants will usually be in the range of £5,000 to £7,000 per year for up to two years.

Activities must fall into one of two programme areas:

  • Asylum Seekers and Refugees - for organisations working to provide essential services.
  • Penal Affairs  for work "through the door" where organisations go into prisons with projects and support to help prisoners etc.

The application window closes at 3pm on 11th July, 2024.

Armed Forces Families Fund Early Years Programme 

Grants of between £5,000 and £50,000 are available for projects lasting up to two years which help enhance early childhood education and childcare settings of young children from Armed Forces families.

Applicant organisations must be a registered charity, a CIC, or a company limited by guarantee, or a local authority. 

The Armed Forces Covenant Trust will hold An Early Years Programme Lunch and Learn webinar on 12th June, 2024 (12pm-1pm). Registration is required and can be done on the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust website.

There are two funding rounds this year.

The deadlines for applications are 12pm on 24th July, 2024 and 20th November, 2024.

Warburtons Offers Small Grants to Benefit Families in Need

Through its Community Grants programme, the family run bakery business Warburtons provides a limited number of grants of up to £400 four times a year.

Applications will be considered from not-for-profit organisations with charitable purposes.

Grants can be used to cover specific costs that will benefit the cause (eg, purchasing equipment to support an employability project).

The current deadline for applications is 5th August, 2024.

Funding for UK Theatres to Improve Environmental Sustainability

The Theatres Trust, in association with Wolfson Foundation, is currently accepting applications for grants of up to £20,000 to support not-for-profit theatres who need financial support to help reduce their environmental impact.

Grants can be used for capital costs of building or equipment.

Grants support a range of projects that consider different ways theatre buildings can reduce their environmental impact, for example sedum roofs, new windows, building management systems and more efficient water heaters.

The deadline for applications is 12pm on Friday 6th September, 2024.

Theatre Improvement Scheme Details

Funding for Museums and Galleries to Bring Collections Closer to People

Provided by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and administered by the Museums Association (MA), the Collections Fund supports museums and their community partners to develop together, using existing collections.

Grants of £40,000–£100,000 are available over a period of up to three years.

Successful applicants are required to join the Collections Network and should reserve resources to allow at least one to two people to attend network meetings at least twice a year. Alongside informal peer support, the Collections Network includes coaching conversations and action learning sets to support planning, evaluation and legacy.

The deadline for applications to the second round is 16th September, 2024.

Museum Collections Fund Details

Arnold Clark Community Fund

Arnold Clark, the UK’s largest independently owned, family-run car retailer, has been offering grants to communities in the areas in which it operates.

This year, registered charities and other not-for-profit groups and organisations can apply for the following support:

  • Cost of Living Support 
  • Our Communities Support 
  • Gear Up for Sport 

Funding is at the discretion of Arnold Clark Community Fund with a possible maximum grant of £2,500.

Applications are expected to be accepted until the end of December 2024.

Grants for Senior Mental Health Lead Training in Schools and Colleges

The Department for Education (DfE) is offering grants for eligible state-funded schools and colleges to train a senior mental health lead to develop and implement a whole school or college approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Grants of £1,200 will be provided to cover (or contribute to) the cost of attending a quality assured course and may also be used to hire supply staff whilst leads are engaged in training.

Applicants must complete two form:

  • Form 1 - the initial application form to check eligibility and reserve a grant.
  • Form 2 - the second stage of the application process, where applicants upload evidence of having booked a DfE quality assured training course so they can pay the grant.

The deadline to submit:

  • Form 1 is 31st December, 2024. 
  • Form 2 is 31st January, 2025.

Mental Health Lead Training Details

Funding to Reduce Isolation and Loneliness Among Older People

Barchester Healthcare Foundation is offering grants of up to £2,500 for small community groups and local charities for projects that help reduce isolation and loneliness.

Funding is intended to help small community groups and local charities with the following: 

  • Activities.
  • Equipment and materials for use by members.
  • Member transport. 
  • Day trips, outings, and group holidays in the UK.

Applications can be submitted at any time.

Neighbourhood Planning Grants and Support Programme Now Open for Applications

Local communities can apply now for grants and technical support to develop a neighbourhood plan or neighbourhood development this year (2024/25) as part of the Neighbourhood Planning Support Programme run by Locality on behalf of DLUHC.

Town and parish councils, neighbourhood forums and prospective neighbourhood forums may apply for the following:

  • A basic grant of between £1,000 and £10,000 for groups writing a neighbourhood plan or neighbourhood development order.
  • An additional grant of up to £8,000 is available for groups facing more complex issues, giving a maximum total amount of £18,000.

There is a two stage application process. The first stage is to submit an Expression of Interest.

Expressions of Interest can be submitted at any time before March 2025.
