Hello there,
Doncaster Pride is back on Saturday (10 August) at Town Field and not only that, we’re this year’s UK Pride host city which is a tremendous boost for Doncaster
Doncaster Pride, a registered charity, established in 2007 and run by a small team of volunteers, has delivered an annual event in the city ever since. Pride events are important as they raise the profile of the LGBTQ+ community, celebrate the culture and heritage and campaign for much needed support to bring about inclusion and end discrimination.
Event-goers can enjoy a vibrant day of music, acts, entertainment, stalls, activities and electric atmosphere. This year, there will be three stages of entertainment and for the first time, Doncaster Youth Pride will give the under-18s their own area with entertainment and activities designed by themselves.
A variety of council services will be there on the day in the Choose Kindness marquee or across Town Field. These include Visit Doncaster, Communities teams, Domestic Abuse Team, Complex Lives, Proud to Care, Well Doncaster and members of Doncaster’s Public Health team who will be attending to talk about being compassionate to yourself and your body as well as a number of other health teams. Our Foster for Doncaster team and our adoption team, One Adoption South Yorkshire will be hosting an information stand too.
Also come along and take the Choose Kindness pledge. This is our city-wide movement to champion the power of kindness and the rich diversity of our local people and communities.
Full details of the programme and timings can be found at:
Relax and unwind at Doncaster De-Stresstival
Also taking place at Pride will be Doncaster De-Stresstival dedicated to rejuvenation, relaxation and holistic health.
Event-goers can explore holistic treatments such as massages, meditation and silent disco yoga with the aim to elevate mind, body and spirit.
There will be specialist talks, with the opportunity to gain insights into mindfulness, meditation, wellbeing and expand your knowledge on living a balanced, healthy life.
Stalls will also be selling wellness and mindfulness items such as healing crystals and gemstones, herbal tea, organic skincare. Join the craft activities too!
The Doncaster De-Stresstival is taking place at Doncaster Pride from 11am-5pm. For further details, contact mandy.burns@Doncaster.gov.uk or visit Doncaster De-Stresstival - City of Doncaster Council
Pride in Fostering and Adoption
Our Foster for Doncaster team and our adoption team, One Adoption South Yorkshire are proud to be hosting an information stand at Doncaster Pride.
The teams want to encourage more people from the LGBTQ+ community to come forward and consider fostering or adoption with their local council.
They will be on hand to answer questions from 11am to 3pm. Monthly information events are also held, for more details on fostering visit Fostering in Doncaster or adoption at One Adoption
