[Vote for your splash pad choice]
================================================================================================================================================================
Local people are being invited to choose between two exciting multi-sensory designs (see above) for a new splash pad in our Matlock Hall Leys Park.
The two splash pad designs, which have interchangeable interactive features, have come forward from a tendering process and work will start as the school summer holidays end in September, to ensure the requirement is met to spend external funding by the end of March 2025.
The District Council is moving quickly to bring the existing 15-year-old paddling pool in the park up to the required standard for it to operate from the end of next month, following essential repairs, until splash pad construction starts. **This means the paddling pool will be available throughout the height of the summer season.**
Please note, following essential tests, we are also working to get the existing splash pads at our parks in **Ashbourne** and **Bakewell**reopened next week for the half term holidays.

No traffic signals in Bakewell Road next week
---------------------------------------------
Derbyshire County Council, our partners in the bus station improvement scheme in Matlock's Bakewell Road, and managing the current works on site, have confirmed no Traffic Management Signals will be in use during school half term week. There will be some barriers reducing footway width outside the M&S entrance, but adequate width will be allowed for people to be able to move freely. Further updates will be provided as the scheme progresses.
