[Deputy PM the focus of Dales holiday homes debate]

Derbyshire Dales District Council is being urged to engage Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner to limit the increase in holiday homes locally.
Ms Rayner is also the new Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government.

It’s official! Derbyshire Dales District Council’s parks and gardens in Ashbourne, Bakewell and Matlock are blooming great after winning coveted Green Flag Awards.
The top Derbyshire Dales locations are among UK winners of an award that is the international quality mark for parks and green spaces.
And while Bath Gardens in Bakewell has now been awarded Green Flags in each of the past four years and Matlock’s Hall Leys Park is a winner for a 17th consecutive year, Ashbourne Park is celebrating Green Flag status for the first time.

[Plans for a new Banking Hub for Bakewell progress as meeting is held with local MP]

Derbyshire Dales District Council held a meeting of Bakewell Banking Hub stakeholders on Friday 12 July.
The meeting was attended by John Whitby MP and stakeholders agreed to collaborate in the preparation of a ‘business case’ to enable Mr Whitby to progress discussions with the government minister. It was proposed that Bakewell Town Council co-ordinate activity.
