Are you election ready? A general election will take place tomorrow, Thursday 4th July, here's what you need to know for polling day:
- Don’t forget to bring photo ID. [Find out what forms of ID are accepted]
- Don’t worry if your ID is out of date. You can use out of date photo ID if it still looks like you and the name is the same as the one you used when you registered to vote.
- Find your polling station. Not sure where your polling station is? [Head to this web page] and enter your postcode:
- Polling stations will be open from 7am – 10pm.
- If you forget to bring your ID. You’ll be asked to return with an accepted form of ID before a ballot paper can be issued.
- Acting as a proxy for someone? You’ll need to go to their polling station to cast their vote. You’ll also need to bring your own photo ID.

**Postal voters

If you have not had time to post your vote, please hand it in at any polling station between 7am – 10pm on Thursday 4 July. You do not need photo ID for this but you will need to complete a form when you hand the postal vote in.
