Art for Wellbeing
As we start to see the days getting longer and the nights getting lighter it's time to come out of hibernation. Could now be the time for you to take up an old hobby or learn a new skill?

Spotlight on.....Lynn our fabulous Art tutor!
Lynn
My name is Lynn and I’ve worked for Adult Learning for almost three years. I was a primary teacher before that but now work with adults who are just as much fun but far better behaved!
My passion is art and making something from nothing. I’m no perfectionist and find enjoyment in experimenting with different media and techniques to see where it will take me. Working with the Partners groups is just wonderful! I get a group of people who maybe haven’t done art since school so are a bit nervous (for the first five minutes!). Then they soon find that there is no exam, no scoring, just a couple of hours of playing with paint, ink, collage, pencils etc while listening to music and banter. They soon discover that the sessions are fun and soon everyone is chatting, creating and best of all, laughing! We’ve made some fantastic work together and some people have carried on creating as it’s so good for wellbeing. Art has a way of emptying your mind of worries and the stress of life, plus it’s just so relaxing and enjoyable.
