The Family Information Service can help you find breakfast and after school clubs for your child. Many childcare providers and childminders will take your child to school and collect them at the end of the day, providing a complete wraparound care service.

💛 Local children in care develop national wellbeing resources
Children living in care in BCP Council have created video resources to support the mental health and wellbeing of children in care across the country.
Big thank you to the children and young people for working with the Stormbreak charity and recently celebrated their project collaborations and conclusions, with a VIP launch at AFC Bournemouth.
Stormbreak are a national organisation whose vision is to create resources to allow children and young people to make positive choices about their own mental health and wellbeing. The video below explains how the project came about.

🚲 Bourne Academy students trial virtual reality (VR) cycling training
A group of year seven students at The Bourne Academy School, Bournemouth are the first in the country to experience an exciting new virtual cycling training session.
The ‘Group-Based VR Immersive Cycle Training Project’ uses tablets to embed the skills needed for learning to cycle on the road. The training is designed to help children become more confident and competent cyclists.

Members of Youth Parliament meet The Mayor of Bournemouth
Our current and and former BCP Members of UK Youth Parliament (MYPs) met The Mayor of Bournemouth and The Charter Trustees at the Civic Centre on Wednesday 24 July.
The MYPs enjoyed a talk on the history of the building and regalia, and discussed their priorities in their Youth Parliament terms with the Mayor.

🎓 BCP Council supported interns graduation day!
Congratulations to the second cohort of BCP Council supported interns that graduated on Monday 15 July.
Of the seven interns, three are leaving with paid employment and the others are actively applying for and having interviews for local jobs.
The BCP Council supported internship programme offers an exciting opportunity for young people aged 18 to 25 years with an education health and care plan (EHCP) who are interested in enhancing and developing transferable employment skills.
Our third cohort, starting in September 2024, is our largest yet, with 12 young people starting the programme with us.
