EV Event
*Understanding how to transition to electric vehicles. Free event Tuesday, 21 May. *
Understanding how to transition to Electric Vehicles in business and at home is a new free event being held on Tuesday, 21 May at the Civic Centre, Ellesmere Port. The event will run from 8am to 2pm, with the first two hours (8am to 10am) reserved for businesses.
Electric vehicles on display at the event will include the BMW i5, BMW iX2, BYD Atto 3, BYD Seal, Ford E-Transit, Ford Mach-E, MINI Cooper, Peugeot E-2008, Peugeot E-308, Vauxhall Astra Electric, Vauxhall Mokka Electric, Volkswagen ID.7 and the Volkswagen ID. Buzz. The Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y, Toyota bZ4X and the Toyota Proace City van will be available for test drives.
Stellantis will also be presenting on how their Ellesmere Port plant has been remodelled to support EV production.
Other exhibitors on hand to help with switching to electric will include Char.gy, Connected Energy, DriveElectric, E.ON Drive, Health Box, Joju Solar, TB Electrics and Trojan Energy.

Active Travel Event in Ellesmere Port 28 May
A public awareness day is taking place outside Ellesmere Port Asda on Tuesday, 28 May between 10am and 2pm. The event will provide an opportunity to see the detailed plans for the exciting changes in the area. The scheme’s designers and engineers will be on hand to answer any questions, plus:
* Bring your bikes along for some basic repairs from Dr Bike along with some advice on how to maintain your bikes and scooters
* The local police will be offering some free security I.D. stamping on bikes brought along on the day
* Face painter and colouring in to keep the children entertained.

Coastal pathway
King Charles III England Coast Path
The Cheshire section of what will become the King Charles III England Coast Path has been completed after recent improvements works and is now open for visitors to enjoy this beautiful part of the borough.
The Council was asked to improve the borough's existing coastal path between the Flintshire and Wirral borders. Most of the construction took place from Marshlands Road, Neston up to Parkgate, following on the previous work from the Flintshire border to Neston in 2012.
The King Charles III England Coast Path will be longest managed coastal path in the world. It will go all the way around the coast of England and will be around 2,700 miles long when it is complete.

Park and ride [

Travelling in to Chester for work or leisure? Park and Ride operates from Upton, Boughton Heath and Wrexham Road. Free parking, with discounts for groups now available. Buses operate three separate circular routes direct into the city, then back to your car park.

Get around for £2 until 31 December 2024
The scheme that encouraged passengers to ‘Get Around for £2’ by bus has been extended to 31 December 2024.
All bus operators participating in the original campaign will continue to do so. Cheshire West and Chester Council has worked with operators to encourage as many as possible to participate, although some services will not be eligible.
Journeys starting in Wales are not eligible for the scheme, however local concessions have been introduced by some operators.

Sandy Lane
Water supply improvements Sandy Lane, Chester
Severn Trent are installing a new water supply from Huntington Water Treatment Works to Boughton Water Treatment Works, this is important work to maintain the vital utilities for the area.
Work has moved to the area between Huntington Village Green to the junction of Woodlands Road.
The road will be closed. Access for pedestrians, cyclists and wheelchair users will be maintained.
Following the reopening of the Butterbache Road junction with Chester Road, the Woodlands Road junction with Chester Road is closed from Monday 29 April until Friday 10 May. Please note that these dates may change.

Unfortunately, these utility works are likely to cause some unavoidable disruption.

Teams are working 7-days a week. Their proposed working hours are:
