Darnhall Bridge
Road closure needed for work on Darnhall Bridge, Winsford
A road closure is in place for around four weeks while works take place on Darnhall Bridge, near Winsford.
Works to prop the wall of the bridge began at the end of July with diversions in place via Church Minshall and Wettenhall.
The bridge will also be closed to pedestrians and cyclists during working hours from 8am to 5pm.

City Walls
Works started on Chester City Walls Collapse Site
Cheshire West and Chester Council's contractors have started enabling work on the site of the section of Chester City Walls at Newgate Street that collapsed in 2020.

itravel
itravel on-demand rural bus service
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s on-demand rural bus service, which aims to improve connectivity in some of the more remote parts of the borough, is celebrating its first birthday.
‘itravel’ covers a wide area including Helsby, Frodsham, Delamere and Acton Bridge, as well as some other villages, where no commercial services are available.
Since the service began on 31 July 2023 it has clocked up an impressive 11,311 journeys with 15,097 passengers jumping on board.
Out of 4,412 customer service ratings given, 98% of users rate the service five out of five. Positive comments received include:
"Amazing, so convenient me and my little one used it for the first time and it was fantastic such a good service connecting villages where buses don't go, amazing little itravel, best transport around.”
“Very good as always - a real godsend to folk without a car.”
“First time and perfect. Hopefully the first of many.”
“Thank you, it makes a huge difference to me being able to get out more, much appreciated.”
“Very friendly and helpful, wonderful service.
The bus service can be booked online, using a mobile phone app, or phone call, which allows a resident, or group of residents, to request a bus for a specific journey.

Park and ride [

Travelling in to Chester for work or leisure? Park and Ride operates from Upton, Boughton Heath and Wrexham Road. Free parking, with discounts for groups now available. Buses operate three separate circular routes direct into the city, then back to your car park.

Get around for £2 until 31 December 2024
The scheme that encouraged passengers to ‘Get Around for £2’ by bus has been extended to 31 December 2024.
All bus operators participating in the original campaign will continue to do so. Cheshire West and Chester Council has worked with operators to encourage as many as possible to participate, although some services will not be eligible.
Journeys starting in Wales are not eligible for the scheme, however local concessions have been introduced by some operators.

Gully clean
*Grid/gullies work programme*
38,505 grids (gullies) have been cleaned over the past twelve month cleaning programme.

Sandy Lane July 8
Water supply improvements Sandy Lane, Chester
Severn Trent are installing a new water supply from Huntington Water Treatment Works to Boughton Water Treatment Works, this is important work to maintain the vital utilities for the area.
Severn Trent are currently working in Jubilee fields and this work is progressing well and on schedule to be completed by the12 August 2024.
The Investigation work along Sandy Lane between Dee Banks and Walmoor Park has been completed. During these investigations Severn Trent discovered the main sewer pipe had corroded. Welsh Water are currently on site investigating the issues.
Unfortunately, until this is repaired, work can’t start on the installation of the water main.

Teams are working 7-days a week. Their proposed working hours are:
Monday to Friday 7.30am to 7pm
Saturday 8.30am to 7pm
Sunday 9am to 3pm
