Chester Racecourse
Anti-terrorism bollards to be installed at Chester Racecourse
The Council is working with Chester Racecourse to enable them to install sockets for anti-terrorism bollards on roads around the venue.
On race and other event days the bollards will be placed into the sockets to support the necessary road closures. The installation of the bollards will result in the reduction of disruption to residents and motorists on event days, as the roads will need to be closed for a much shorter length of time than they are currently.
The work is scheduled to begin in April and will require several road closures while the work takes place.

N3 Bus service - Northwich
A new bus service has been introduced in the Northwich area. The N3 restores links between Northwich town centre, the Mount Pleasant area of Davenham and Moulton village. This service which will also serve Kingsmead, starts on 2 April and will operate hourly from 10am to 2pm on Mondays to Fridays. The N3 is a trial service and is part of the
Council’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) grant allocation. The BSIP funding focuses on improving bus services in local areas for the benefit of residents and promoting sustainable services that are more frequent, reliable, affordable, and easier for passengers to understand.
Also from this date, existing service N4 will no longer operate via Kingsmead, an area that will be covered by new service N3. This has enabled an improvement to the current N4 timetable, as the service will return directly to Northwich via London Road after serving the Clifton Road area of Leftwich. This timetable alteration is designed to improve punctuality throughout the N4 route that operates between Leftwich and Barnton.
Passengers can take advantage of capped fares on these services with an adult single journey costing £2 and a young person (up to and including 18 years old) costing just £1.
