The provision of household waste recycling centre services
Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC)
We have launched a consultation on how household waste recycling centre services in Cheshire East could be provided in the future.
We want to deliver a service that enables residents to recycle and dispose of their waste responsibly but is also within the limits of what is affordable over the coming years.
This is in the context of needing to address a four-year funding gap of £100m while continuing to support those who need help the most across the borough.
A final decision on how these services are provided in the future has not yet been made, and we would like your views on ideas and proposals so that a final recommendation can be developed.
*The consultation is open until Sunday 16 June 2024. *

Air quality strategy consultation
We published an air quality strategy in 2011, which was subsequently reviewed and updated in 2018. The aim of the strategy is to support the achievement of the national air quality objectives and to ensure air quality is considered within a wide range of local government and regional planning frameworks. It aims to drive greater improvements in air quality at the local level and is reviewed on a five-yearly basis.
Due to the changes in legislation, plus the current strategy being more than five years old, we are undertaking a review of the strategy and would like your views on the proposed air quality strategy for 2024 to 2029.

Review of supported local bus services
The last bus service review was undertaken in 2017 and much has changed in that time.
