*Vehicle idling: Show the air you care*
Switch off your engine with stationary
We want to hear your views on vehicle engine idling.
As part of our commitment to improve air quality and to contribute to our ambitious target of achieving wider borough carbon neutrality by 2045, we want to continue to raise awareness of vehicle engine idling by engaging with the local community.
Idling is the term used to describe when motorists continue to run an engine when a vehicle is not moving.
We've created a new webpage [
] based on feedback from our previous survey, myth-busting some common themes around vehicle idling. We've also put up 'no idling' signs around the borough and developed dedicated schools resources, which can be viewed and downloaded on our website [
].
Our new online survey [
] aims to review people’s general understanding of vehicle idling, as well as highlighting any idling issues in the borough. Take part using the link below.

Pocket Parks
Pocket Parks
We are asking local residents for feedback on how a further three parks in Crewe should be revamped.
Samuel Street, Lime Tree Avenue and the land next to Jubilee Gardens are the three latest ‘pocket parks’ to go out to public consultation [
].
We would like feedback from residents and those who use the parks about how these important community spaces could be improved to provide better facilities and to make them more accessible.
The council’s ‘Pocket Parks’ project is supported by the government’s Towns Fund and overseen by Crewe Town Board. It is led in partnership by Cheshire East Council, Ansa Environmental Services [
] and Crewe Town Council.
You can read more about pocket parks, including how they are funded, on our website using the link below.

Re-purposing of children's centres
We are looking to re-purpose up to seven of our remaining children's centre buildings and further develop our family hub outreach offer. This proposal will help achieve our savings target while offering a service that improves the reach and support to the most disadvantaged communities and removes the barriers some families face in accessing the current children's centres.
*Closes Friday 13 September*
