Welcome to the 13th edition of the North West Crewe Package newsletter
The North West Crewe Package (NWCP) is a large-scale infrastructure project, which will improve roads and junctions and bring forward opportunities for housing developments and local businesses to expand.
It's been a project two years in the building and through partnership working and collaborating with many different organisations along the way, we are very nearly at the end of our journey.
The scheme will be completed in July and is being delivered on our behalf by Balfour Beatty.

Recent progress
Here's a summary of the activities that have been taking place in recent weeks:
* New carriageway construction over existing Smithy Lane linking either side of Bob Brown Way
* Creation of new access to Leighton Hospital from hospital roundabout
* Installation of lamp posts and road signage on the newly-constructed Bob Brown Way
* Tree, hedge, and shrub planting across the site
* Carriageway construction and kerb installation on Tottys Hall Way

Upcoming Works
There will be a realignment of the junction of the A530 Middlewich Road and Smithy Lane under temporary traffic management.
Asphalt surfacing will also be applied to Tottys Hall Way and top-soiling and grass seeding will happen across the site.
Latest traffic updates
Asphalt surfacing will be applied to Bob Brown Way which will then open to traffic between Milehouse Roundabout and the hospital roundabout on Saturday 4 May. This will form the new access to Leighton Hospital.
There will be a closure at Smithy Lane between the A530 Middlewich Road and the accident and emergency entrance to Leighton Hospital from Tuesday 7 May to Friday 17 May.
At this time, A&E access will be gained from the newly-constructed Bob Brown Way between Fairfield Roundabout and the hospital roundabout.
Smithy Lane between the A530 Middlewich Road and Leighton Hospital and Bob Brown Way between Fairfield Roundabout and hospital roundabout will be opened to traffic on Friday 17 May.
Both temporary and permanent signage is in place to direct people to the hospital depending on which direction they are travelling from.
