Plus elections and #D-Day80 Residents newsletter header right aligned *National Volunteers' Week: Make a difference during recovery* Volunteer role that really makes a difference This National Volunteers' Week, we're not only taking the opportunity to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers who currently support us, but highlighting a new service that helps people in Cheshire East after a hospital stay. The first few weeks at home are crucial for recovery, but not everyone has family or friends nearby to help with everyday tasks. This is where our new volunteer service steps in. We match volunteers with people who need support for around six weeks. This could include: * *Shopping and errands* * *Pet care* * *Light housework* * *Companionship* * *Help attending appointments* These little things can make a big difference in someone's physical and mental well-being. *Focus on our communities:* Our service focuses on discharges from Macclesfield and Crewe Leighton hospitals, with volunteers supporting people in their own homes across Cheshire East. *Interested in volunteering?* If you're 18 or over and passionate about helping others, we'd love to hear from you! We'll conduct an enhanced DBS check, but having a criminal record doesn't necessarily disqualify you. *Join us!* Email volunteersupport@cheshireeast.gov.uk or call Helena or Alex on 01625 374050 for a chat. *Together, we can make a real difference in people's lives!* *Cheshire East Volunteering Hub* [ ] ________________________________________________________________________ General Election - are you registered to vote?
