Summer Reading Challenge
Ready for a summer of reading and fun?
marvellous makers summer reading challenge [
]
The theme for this year's Summer Reading Challenge is Marvellous Makers. It's running all summer until Saturday 14th September, and it’s free to sign up at the library. There’s also a mini challenge for pre-schoolers who can choose books for their parents and carers to share with them.
Children set their own reading goal, and as they read for fun throughout the summer holidays, they earn special stickers and libraries hold special themed events to encourage them along.
This year, every child that completes the challenge will get a certificate and medal (or a golden sticker for the under 3’s) and a free swim voucher kindly provided by Everybody Health and Leisure.
summer reading ceremony
“ "We know that if children encounter books when they’re very young, they’re given an enormous advantage, both educationally and emotionally, especially in terms of being happy."” (Frank Cottrell-Boyce, Children's Laureate)

What's on in July?
