Essex Pride celebrates love and acceptance this weekend
Essex’s biggest LGBTQIA+ community celebration, Essex Pride, returns to Chelmsford *tomorrow (Saturday 22 June). *It’s the third consecutive annual Pride March to take place in Chelmsford, starting outside Pop World in the city centre from *11.20am* and finishing at Central Park, where the Essex Pride Festival takes place.
It’s not too late to grab last-minute tickets for this year’s festival celebrating love and acceptance. Some of the acts appearing this year include Claire Richards, Jaymi Hensley, Jordan Gray, and a Spice Girls tribute band. Plus, there’ll be plenty of food and drink, a silent disco tent and a family activity zone.

Proxy vote application deadline next week
If you’re registered to vote but you can’t get to a polling station in person on *July 4**,* you can apply to vote by proxy. The deadline to apply for a proxy vote for the general election is *5pm *on* 26 June. *You’ll need your National Insurance number or another valid identity document, the address where your proxy is registered to vote and their contact details.

Don’t have photo ID? Apply by 5pm on 26 June
Voters must now show photo identification when voting in person, so don’t forget to take an accepted form of photo ID [
] with you to the polling station. Your ID must be the original version, but you can use out of date photo ID as long as it still looks like you and has the name you used to register to vote. If you don’t have accepted voter ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document* before 5pm *on* 26 June.*

The Guide Dogs Run at Hylands
A sponsored fun run with a difference is coming to Hylands Park on *Saturday 29 June* – and there’s still time to sign up. The Guide Dogs Run raises funds for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, with participants running, walking, or strolling the *5km course dressed as dogs**!* Take part with your friends, family, and four-legged friends to help raise vital funds.

Candlelit concert at Hylands Estate
Join Lumos Live at Hylands Estate on *Friday **5** July* as they present an enchanting outdoor candlelight concert experience on the Back Lawn. A string trio will play iconic hits from Hans Zimmer, Coldplay, and Taylor Swift in a mesmerising evening of music set against the glow of thousands of candles. Enjoy as you sip a refreshing drink and watch the sunset.

Maintenance works at High Chelmer car park
On* Monday 24 June* essential maintenance and repair works will begin on levels 11, 12 and 13 of High Chelmer multi-storey car park. The works will last approximately *16 weeks* and during this time the affected levels will be *closed off**.* Parking permit holders can park on lower levels.

Last chance for spring COVID-19 vaccine
The spring Covid-19 vaccine programme will come to an end on *Saturday 30 June.* Those at increased risk from severe illness, including those *aged 75 or over,* people with a weakened immune system or who live in an older adult care home, can book their vaccine online, via the *NHS app, *or by* calling 119**,* up until* 29 June.* Alternatively, the final walk-in session at The Lodge, Runwell, will be this* Saturday 22 June.*

*NHS advice during industrial action*
With strike action by junior doctors planned from 7am on Thursday 27 June until 7am on Tuesday 2 July, some routine appointments may be postponed.
