Kickstart your career in early years!

Find out more about our FREE course starting in June 2024 - An Introduction to Working In Early Years Settings. 

Do you want to work with little ones, but not sure where to begin, or have no experience?

Book onto our FREE course starting in June in Sandy, Bedfordshire, which will teach you the basics and help to kickstart your career in early years. 

What's involved?


Over 6 weeks, you'll:

  • learn about the role of the early years practitioner and how early years settings operate

  • undertake practical activities to help you understand how different types of play support a child’s development

  • complete a short voluntary placement (minimum 4 hours) in a nursery so that you can get some hands-on experience

When and where?


Weekly sessions and voluntary placement will be at Laburnum Primary School and Nursery, Laburnum Road, Sandy, Bedfordshire, SG19 1HQ.


Weekly sessions will be on Wednesday mornings, 9.30am til 12pm, delivered over 6 weeks (must attend all sessions)

  • 19 June 2024

  • 26 June 2024

  • 3 July 2024

  • 10 July 2024 

The voluntary placement in the nursery will be arranged around your availability.

This course is completely free for Central Bedfordshire residents who are 19+
