  • Fun Spring Crafts available everyday (until we run out!)

Join us for a glass of wine as we chat to Bedfordshire author Julia Jarman about writing her first book for adults, her inspiration for The Widows Wine Club and what's next for the widows?

Tickets £5 (including refreshments) are available from Shefford Library or online via eventbrite (booking fee applies). Julia's book will be available to purchase on the night.

Story Search podcast: a celebration of arts and culture in Central Bedfordshire

The first episode of a captivating new podcast series celebrating the rich arts and cultural heritage of Central Bedfordshire is now live!

Story Search will unearth and share compelling stories from the heart of local communities, delving into the lives of different people and shining a light on our libraries, local cultural assets and local arts and cultural organisations in Central Bedfordshire.

The first episode of Story Search, explores the legendary California Ballroom in Dunstable. Once hailed as the pinnacle of entertainment, The California Ballroom played host to some of the world's most renowned musicians, such as The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, James Brown and The Clash, making it a cultural cornerstone of its time.
