There is still time to have your say on the ‘Skills for All’ Strategy

Central Bedfordshire businesses are invited to have their say on a new strategy that outlines how the council will support people to access education throughout their lives.

The strategy outlines four key priorities:
- Foundational
- Pathways to achievement
- Future workforce
- Supporting learners and schools

The consultation period closes on the 12 April 2024, so help shape the final version to reflect the needs and aspirations of our business community.

Are you looking to upskill your team and accelerate business growth?  ​

​Businesses located in the Central Bedfordshire area can now benefit from FREE growth & innovation support, delivered by the University of Bedfordshire.

Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the programme offers 12 hours of tailored support, subsidised graduate employment, access to grant funding (eligibility criteria applies) and peer-to-peer networking.​

You can access a range of workshops designed to foster growth and increase productivity within your business. These include: ​

  • Strategic Marketing Essentials ​
  • Growth Through Transformation ​
  • Lean Thinking  ​
  • Bid Writing and Grant Applications ​

VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme open for Applications

This funding scheme is to help voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations improve their energy efficiency. 

This will help frontline delivery organisations with the increased cost of living.

  • Eligible organisations can apply for the cost and delivery of an independent energy assessment.
  • Organisations with an energy assessment may then be eligible to apply for a capital grant to install the recommended energy efficiency measures in their premises.

This scheme is now open for applications, and will run until August 2024 and all capital grants must be spent by 31 March 2025.

The Growing Innovation Scheme launches a new round of Funding

The fund allocation is £3,864,500 and the maximum grant intervention through the programme will be up to 50% of eligible capital from £100,000 up to a maximum of £300,000.

SEMLEP Growth Hub are inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for projects that may be suitable for capital funding. 

Once your EOI has been approved you will be invited to submit a full application. The last date of receipt of Expressions of Interest is 17 May 2024.
