Feeling the pinch? We can help!

School meals not only saves parents time and money in preparing packed lunches but also ensures that all children have access to nutritious meals during the school day. This can have numerous benefits, including improving children's health, concentration, and academic performance. All primary school children from Reception to Year 6 as well as those in full-time nursery can receive free school meals regardless of their family's financial situation.

This is called Universal Primary Free School Meals and is funded by Welsh Government.

There is another type of free school meals which is available to eligible pupils who attend school full-time. This also includes:

  • Younger children who attend nursery for full days
  • Sixth form school pupils

For details on who might be eligible and to find the application form, click here

If you want to use a paper application form, your child’s school will be able to provide one and send it to us for you.

You do not need to apply for eFSM every year – only once per child, but you must inform us of any change of circumstance, such as address, name, starting work etc.

If you believe you are eligible for Free Schools Meals and have not already submitted an application, then please complete our online Free School Meal application form
