Library system update
We would like to remind you that some of our services will be unavailable until Monday 8 July due to a planned system update. During this time, please remember to bring your library card when visiting our libraries so you can access some of our services, as our staff will be unable to access your account information.
There may be some disruptions to services like PressReader and BorrowBox until our system is restored, especially if you tried to log in after Monday 1 July. Our remote printing service (available in some of our libraries) is not accessible to customers at the moment.
Buckinghamshire libraries will remain open during the system update, and services such as borrowing and returning items, joining the library, printing/copying/scanning and using computers, Hublets and free Wi-Fi will still be available.
Once our system is updated, we will begin restoring services but please be aware that this could take some time as we ensure everything is working as it should. To get the latest updates, please visit our Library System Update page. (

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience as we work to improve our library system.
It is time for the Summer Reading Challenge!

Reopening of Chesham Library
Over the past few months, Chesham Library has been undergoing a transformation and the library team are very excited to see new features such as our glass entrance, new computer area and public toilet take shape.
There are still some works to complete in the back half of the library, but we will be moving back down to our main site in mid-July, to allow easy access for our users, to enable us to operate at full opening hours and to re-establish services such as PC use as quickly as possible.
Initially, the temporary library offer currently available at the White Hill Centre will move down to our Elgiva Lane permanent site and will be operating from the front half of the library only. Once we are open with this offer, the Chesham Library team will be working to return other services (such as the IT offer and Council Access Point) as soon as we can, and we will continue to communicate with you to ensure that we keep everyone informed as these services become available.
We will be unable to run any library events until we are fully reopened. We will inform customers of the date that we will be able to fully re-open once this is confirmed.
In order to move the temporary library, it is necessary to have a short period of closure. The timeframe for this move is below:
Saturday 6 July: temporary library at White Hill will close at 1pmMonday 8 July to Saturday 13 July: Chesham Library will be closed – no temporary site availableMonday 15 July: temporary library re-opens at Elgiva Lane
Any loans that are due back during this closure will be automatically extended. Our team at nearby libraries such as Amersham and Great Missenden will be happy to assist you during this time or you can access our online library services. (

We would like to thank everyone for their patience. We look forward to seeing you soon at Chesham Library!
