Easter Bank Holiday bin collections

Collections for the week commencing Monday 1 April will roll forward one day so bins will be collected one day later than usual.

Collections for today, Friday 29 March will still be collected as usual.

The dates for collections are as follows:

Broxtowe Creates arts festival

Broxtowe Creates arts festival is coming soon!

A sizzling summer of events are going to be running across Broxtowe this summer! A new cultural festival in Broxtowe has received £30,000 in Arts Council funding.

The festival will run during 1-30 June and will include a diverse cultural mix of theatre performances, art workshops, film showings, live music, a children’s writing competition and an art exhibition.

D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum Gin and Gaslight event back for 2024

The hugely popular Gin and Gaslight event is back for 2024 and tickets are on sale now. 

A gin tasting experience with a difference will be on offer in Eastwood this April, as the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum’s Gin and Gaslight event returns for 2024.

The next event, on Friday 26 April will give guests a taste of Victorian decadence, with a chance to learn about and sample several gins, whilst experiencing this award-winning museum at night.

Your region, your mayor, your vote: People will decide who leads a £4 billion boost for the East Midlands

A £4 billion investment in the future of the East Midlands will be guided by a public vote.

Derbyshire, Derby, Nottinghamshire and Nottingham have opened the door to a massive investment in transport, skills, housing and the environment after securing a deal to set up a combined county authority covering the region.

But what the Combined Authority does will be led by a mayor – and the public get to decide who that mayor is.

Progress for new £6.4m community pavilion and sports facilities in Stapleford

Exciting plans for a brand-new £6.4m community pavilion for the people of Stapleford are progressing with the release of updated artists impressions and plans for the building and sports pitches, due to open in 2025.

The building will be a state-of-the-art, accessible, energy-efficient, multi-use building with recreation and sports grounds on the Hickings Lane Recreation Ground.

Mayor’s Majazztic Charity Evening Benefits Broxtowe

Over £750 was raised on Friday 22 March at the Mayor’s ‘All That Jazz’ charity dinner at the Beeston Youth and Community Centre. The evening featured the sensational Shell’s Belles with guest singer Jeanie Barton, who wowed guests with their super swing set list.
