Hemlock Happening is here tomorrow!
Hemlock Happening poster Saturday 8th June at Bramcote Hills Park 1pm until 10pm
Join the celebrations and mark the 80th Anniversary of D-Day with 1940's music and decorations.
The event will kick off with an official opening from the Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Sue Paterson.
You won't want to miss:
* The Oasis 2ribute band on our United Living Main Stage
* Nottingham Dementia Choir
*
Interactive experience delivered by the HQ Army Centre and Reserve Units
* A licensed bar provided by Gladstonian MobileBar and Events
*
An array of craft and trade stalls
* Food and drink stalls
*
Sports activities, fairground rides and inflatable fun
*
Community stalls
*
Classic vehicles
*
Green Zone with games and recycled crafts promoting environmental initiatives
*
The return of Black Pig Border Morris Dancers and Team Falchion
Don't miss the Green Zone to discover some of the simple ways we can each act on climate change. From the chance to meet your local beekeeper to learning how to mend your clothes at Mary Broddle's free workshop. There's also a chance to win a £50 M&S gift voucher and we've got seeds to giveaway!
Finally, make sure you stick around for the firework finale at 10.30pm!
Parking is available on site for Blue badge holders only. Free event parking is available at Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground, Stapleford NG9 8JL. Please be considerate to neighbours of Bramcote Hills by not parking on residential streets.
Residents are also encouraged to walk, cycle, or use public transport to our events.

D-Day 80th Anniversary Flag Raising
Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Sue Paterson holding the commemorative 80th anniversary D-Day ‘Flag of Peace’
The Mayor of Broxtowe, Councillor Sue Paterson raised the commemorative 80th anniversary D-Day ‘Flag of Peace’ on Thursday 6 June.
It will fly on buildings across the Nation as we remember Operation Overlord which bought together the largest naval, air and land operation in history, and remember over 209,000 casualties.
The flag marks the start of D-Day commemorations across the country.

Catch the Best of Beeston Film with the Broxtowe Creates Festival
The Best of Beeston Film Festival Pop-up Cinema Screenings poster
Don't miss the first Pop Up Cinema event at the Arc Cinema, Beeston tonight, Friday 7 June, 8pm until 10pm. Tickets cost £8 and you can book your place on the Arc Cinema website [

There will also be two more events taking place at:
* Kettlebrook Lodge, Eastwood Road, Kimberley - 15 June, 7.30pm until 9.30pm, pay what you can on the door
* Inspire Library, Stapleford - 27 June, 5pm until 7pm, pay what you can on the door

Forever Stars Father’s Day Keepsake Workshop
A group of people making jewellery at a Forever stars workshop
Places are available for fathers who have suffered infant loss.
Forever Stars is a Beeston-based charity dedicated to supporting families who have suffered stillbirth or infant loss.
This year, Forever Stars is pioneering monthly keepsake workshops, offering ‘a beautiful opportunity to create a unique and sentimental piece of handmade jewellery inspired by your baby’.

Kimberley man fined for causing anti-social behaviour
Newspaper titled Local News
Broxtowe Borough Council have successfully prosecuted a Kimberley man for keeping his dogs in a manner which caused distress to local residents.
Three large dogs were kept in a rented property with no garden and dog faeces and urine was allowed to accumulate causing severe odour on a regular basis.
