Over 4,000 Trees Planted!
In 2023/24, 4,051 trees were planted around the Borough.
This was supported by Canopy 2050, who are a not for profit organisation collaborating with and supporting councils to increase the urban tree canopy.
£77,360 has been secured for further tree planting this year with funding from The Forestry Commission and 'Trees for Climate' Greenwood Community Forest project.
Recycle it Right - Top Tip!
Can you spot the problem with the contents of these green-lidded recycling bins?
That’s right! Bin liners and other plastic bags cannot currently go in your green-lidded recycling bin. These bags are low quality and can get tangled in machinery at the sorting facility. Make sure to place items loose in your bin and not in a bin liner.
Optimise Your Heating
Through the Nottingham Energy Partnership’s ‘Let’s Optimise your Heating Scheme’ (funded by Nottinghamshire County Council), you have the opportunity to reduce your gas usage by an average of 9% and an average of £178. All by changing a single setting on your gas combi boiler!
Many boilers have been installed with a flow temperature (water temperature to the radiators – not hot taps) of 80°C. Reducing it to 60°C, helps the boiler run more efficiently, uses less gas and helps to lower gas bills too.
