Councillor Millie Earl elected Leader of BCP Council

Cllr Millie Earl was elected to lead Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council following this weeks Council meeting on Tuesday 23 July.

Cllr Earl now heads the Three Towns Alliance administration after previous Leader Cllr Vikki Slade relinquished the role after being elected as Member of Parliament for Mid Dorset and North Poole in the General Election on 4 July.

🏠Household grants available for residents in need

If you're struggling financially, you may be eligible for a household grant.

The Government-funded Household Support Fund (HSF) provides financial help for vulnerable households, focusing on costs associated with food, energy and other essentials.

Applications for household grants are open now.

🚽 Boscombe West toilet facilities get an upgrade

Our latest renovation sees the male, female and disabled toilet facilities located on Boscombe West upgraded.

The wider project, enabled through UK Government funding, has already seen toilet facilities on Bournemouth East and West improved. Boscombe Pier public toilets, beside the Prom Diner, are next on the list.

Members of Youth Parliament meet The Mayor of Bournemouth

Our current and and former BCP Members of UK Youth Parliament (MYPs) met The Mayor of Bournemouth and The Charter Trustees at the Civic Centre on Wednesday 24 July.

The MYPs enjoyed a talk on the history of the building and regalia, and discussed their priorities in their Youth Parliament terms with the Mayor.

🧑🏻‍🎨 Open call for sculpture artists

BCP Council is looking to appoint four artists to each produce a sculpture for Ham Common (Hamworthy, Poole), celebrating its local wildlife and encouraging visitors to discover more about the area’s rich natural heritage.

Funded by UK Government, the project hopes to enhance the area through these artistic additions, implementing sculptures of high artistic quality which imaginatively represent selected species that live in Ham Common; inspiring viewers to seek to discover more about the local environment. image image

The open call deadline is Tuesday 6 August 2024 at 10am.

Kick off the weekend with a bang with Coastal Bid Fireworks starting tonight on Bournemouth Seafront at 10pm!

Mudeford Arts Festival is a free event taking place on Saturday and Sunday at Mudeford Quay Green - the festival showcases various forms of arts and crafts, with stalls, exhibitions and performances for all ages. 🎨

On Sunday morning make time to ease gently into the day and join in with free park yoga at Bournemouth Central Gardens and Poole Park at 9.30am. 🧘🏽
