BCP Film office has launched, and Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole are on the map as the perfect filming location offering many hidden gems! Filmmaker, cinematographer and production companies need look no further than BCP Film office.

The first step is complete, and the website is live but there is more to come, and we would like to welcome you, the industry, on that journey with us.

Join us at this exciting new venue PATCH AT BOBBY'S. In the words of Patch, the space is ‘beautifully designed and equipped with the best-in-class facilities, it will offer a new town-centre hub to work, connect, share ideas, and promote positive impact.’ Located on the 1st floor of Bobby's Bournemouth in Bournemouth Square.

This is the opportunity to celebrate with industry, hear about the BCP Film Office, what is next and, network.

🪖 Armed Forces Community Business Network
The importance of our Armed Forces Community across PAN Dorset is vital to the local economy. This is why BCP Council is proud to announce the launch of the Dorset Armed Forces Community Business Support Network Group.

In collaboration with Veteran Entrepreneurs we will be running a series of pilot sessions up until December 2024. To find out the latest information please follow the LinkedIn page

🏫 Multiply Numeracy Workshops for Employers
There is just over six months of funding left for the Multiply numeracy programme.

Skills & Learning Adult Community Education is keen to use this government funding to do as much as possible to improve maths and numeracy skills across Dorset. FREE Multiply activities have been delivered to over 1,500 learners in communities and workplaces across the county but there's still more work to do.

These Multiply workshops are:
  • Fully-funded by the Government
  • Practical, confidence-building workshops
  • Online or in-person
  • Progression pathways onto qualification
  • Tailored to meet your numeracy training needs - just ask
National Numeracy is hosting an information event on Tuesday, 20 August, 10am to 11am for any organisations interested in finding out more about the scheme and expressing interest in taking part.

🤝 Dorset LEP Meet the Funder event

Dorset LEP have teamed up with British Business Bank, Dorset Business Angels and Barclays Eagle Lab Poole to host a "Meet the Funder" event. 

You will get the opportunity to hear from the following:

👩‍💻 ED Team visit FOUNDRY in Poole
The Economic Development (ED) team at BCP Council visited FOUNDRY in Poole for an exclusive preview and tour of the brand new co-working space that will soon be welcoming startup and established businesses, freelancers and networkers.
Adam Walker, founder, said: "FOUNDRY will be offering the Poole business community a platform to meet clients, contacts and build connections. Great to show the BCP ED team around and give them a sneak peak of our private offices, dedicated desks, meeting rooms and boutique members work lounge".

📢 Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) new CEO
Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) are pleased to announce that Captain Brian Murphy will be taking over as CEO of PHC from Jim Stewart on 1^st July 2023. Brian has been with the organisation since 2004. He was appointed as Harbour Master in 2008 and was given the extra responsibility of Marine & Port Director in 2018.
