🏆 FSB Franchise Award for Poole based business
The Federation for Small Businesses (FSB) has celebrated the big achievements of small businesses in the South West with Poole based ‘Your Man with a Van’ winning the Franchise Award. This award celebrates a franchisee who demonstrated the ability to perform exceptionally well in all areas of their business, regardless of the size of the business or the sector they work in.

Dan Scarborough started this business on his own, but after a few years decided to branch out into a franchise model. They now have 17 branches across the UK from Glasgow to Poole. Dan provides practical knowledge through his own experience, there is a comprehensive induction training programme, a franchisee group chat and every branch has a 5 star Google rating.

📈 GBIP Advanced Manufacturing South Korea 2024
The Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP) helps ambitious UK companies developing cutting edge technologies in key sectors enter global markets of strategic importance and find international collaboration partners.

Why South Korea? Manufacturing is the mainstay of the Korean economy, accounting for 25.5% of GDP and 90% of exports. In June 2019, the Korean government announced its “Manufacturing Renaissance Vision” to revitalise the manufacturing industry through innovation and by adopting smart, eco-friendly technologies. In 2022 the sector benefitted from a $1.9 billion investment into R&D smart factory projects.

Successful applicants will benefit from an intensive 9 to 12 months three phased programme and bespoke support from an innovation and growth specialist throughout.

🤝 Digital Employer Survey from BPC College
Bournemouth and Poole College is currently conducting a comprehensive review of its offerings to ensure they align effectively with industry requirements. Your expertise and insights as an employer are invaluable in this process.

Historic Tallship to dock at Poole Quay
Poole Business Improvement District (BID) is excited to announce the arrival of the magnificent tallship ‘Galeon Andalucia' to Poole Quay July 30th to August 5th for a six-day exhibition. Funded by the BID, the event promises to bring a wave of maritime history and excitement to the area, drawing visitors from far and wide.

Jacqui Rock, BID Lead, commented about the upcoming exhibition, "We are excited to welcome ‘Galeon Andalucia' to Poole Quay. This historic tallship promises to be a significant draw for visitors, enriching our waterfront with its rich history and cultural significance. We believe that ‘Galeon Andalucia' will not only enhance the appeal of our vibrant community but also contribute to increased footfall, benefiting local businesses and the wider community."

👩‍💻 ED Team visit FOUNDRY in Poole
The Economic Development (ED) team at BCP Council visited FOUNDRY in Poole for an exclusive preview and tour of the brand new co-working space that will soon be welcoming startup and established businesses, freelancers and networkers.
Adam Walker, founder, said: "FOUNDRY will be offering the Poole business community a platform to meet clients, contacts and build connections. Great to show the BCP ED team around and give them a sneak peak of our private offices, dedicated desks, meeting rooms and boutique members work lounge".

📢 Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) new CEO
Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) are pleased to announce that Captain Brian Murphy will be taking over as CEO of PHC from Jim Stewart on 1^st July 2023. Brian has been with the organisation since 2004. He was appointed as Harbour Master in 2008 and was given the extra responsibility of Marine & Port Director in 2018.
