📈 Free support and up to £5,000 in match-funded grants
BCP Council is currently offering free business diagnostic support and match-funded grants exclusively to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. The council’s Economic Development team has now supported over 350 local businesses through the scheme, which is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
 
Businesses interested in applying for a grant must register for the support and complete the initial GROWTHmapper diagnostic prior to submitting their proposals. The current round of funding will close on 3 April 2024.

Horizon Scanning Service
Support to help identify government funds to power your business growth, increase collaborations and drive innovation. The funding landscape is vast and can be difficult to navigate. Dorset LEP’s horizon scanning service will assist business owners and senior leaders in identifying suitable funding competitions for their businesses to bid into.

Your business can also take advantage of the fully funded bid writing support service once a suitable funding competition has been identified.

👩‍💻 ED Team visit FOUNDRY in Poole
The Economic Development (ED) team at BCP Council visited FOUNDRY in Poole for an exclusive preview and tour of the brand new co-working space that will soon be welcoming startup and established businesses, freelancers and networkers.
Adam Walker, founder, said: "FOUNDRY will be offering the Poole business community a platform to meet clients, contacts and build connections. Great to show the BCP ED team around and give them a sneak peak of our private offices, dedicated desks, meeting rooms and boutique members work lounge".

📢 Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) new CEO
Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) are pleased to announce that Captain Brian Murphy will be taking over as CEO of PHC from Jim Stewart on 1^st July 2023. Brian has been with the organisation since 2004. He was appointed as Harbour Master in 2008 and was given the extra responsibility of Marine & Port Director in 2018.
