BCP Council confirms May Election arrangements

image

We have confirmed arrangements for elections taking place in May this year.

On Thursday 2 May 2024 people across Dorset will be given the chance to vote for their preferred candidate to take on the role of the county's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

PCCs aim to cut crime and deliver an effective and efficient police service within their police force area.

Residents in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) who want to have their say in elections must be registered to vote in the BCP Council area. If not already registered to vote, registration must take place by Tuesday 16 April 2024.

A BCP Council by-election in the Canford Cliffs ward also takes place on Thursday 2 May triggered by the recent resignation of Cllr May Haines.

Uncovering Christchurch’s scientific secrets

image

New signs and art installations at Friars Cliff, and across Steamer Point Nature Reserve, will reveal Christchurch’s natural qualities and important historical contributions to national defence.

The installations, funded through local development contributions, give information about the area's cultural heritage, and the military research work which was conducted here from the start of the Second World War.
