Multiply Scheme
*Nottinghamshire County Council has been awarded funding to improve numeracy skills across the county, thanks to the Multiply scheme.
Working in conjunction with Futures Multiply offers easy access to free numeracy courses and initiatives that can help brush up your maths skills and help you become more confident with numbers. *
Futures, a local careers advice, employment support and training company are offering free training through Multiply funding. The solutions on offer are tailored to address your employees and businesses specific needs. Whether that be improving household finances and budgets, helping children with homework, or improving numeracy skills specific to a line of work.
By participating in Futures’ Multiply programme, your business and employees can experience a range of benefits:
* *Enhanced Performance*: Encouraging employees to increase their numerical skills can reduce numeracy related mistakes at work, resulting in improved productivity and efficiency and profits.
* *Personal and Professional Confidence*: Multiply not only boosts employees’ confidence with numbers in their work tasks but also empowers them in their personal lives, fostering overall growth and success.
* *Cost of Living Support: *Multiply can help employees with managing their household finances through understanding budgeting, saving, mortgages, interest rates and inflation.
* *Employee Engagement*: Lockdown showed us how important an understanding of Maths can be in supporting our children's education. Multiply sessions will show you the Maths that is being taught at school and help you understand the concepts and how it is delivered in the classroom. This is a fantastic benefit to offer employees who are parents or carers of children to boost their confidence in helping their children with maths homework.
* *Motivated Workforce*: By offering Multiply as a training opportunity, you inspire your employees to pursue forms of workplace training, enhancing their engagement and motivation.
* *Internal Career Progression*: With Multiply, you support your employees’ professional growth within your organisation, providing them with the necessary skills to advance and take on new challenges.
Sessions are short, snappy and delivered in an engaging manner. Futures can design bespoke sessions at no cost to the employer or employee.
To make the most of this opportunity your employees need to be 19 years plus, either not hold a level 2 Maths qualification or passed a Level 2 Maths qualification a long time ago and need a refresher.

Bassetlaw Focus on Farmers
Following extensive engagement with farming and agricultural communities, partners across the district are working together to provide tailored mental health support.
More than 70 farming and agricultural workers responded with their thoughts on mental health provision.
Bassetlaw Place Based Partnership, along with other partners across the district are now working together to Focus on Farmers and signpost them to the wealth of help and support they can access. The top five areas were:
* Mental health
* Community support
* Physical health
* Cancer screening and support
The Bassetlaw Focus on Farmers [
] scheme aims to dispel some of the myths and misconceptions those farmers told us they had around accessing mental health services in Bassetlaw, particularly around confidentiality.
For more information, events and support, visit their website [
]. Alternatively, Focus on Farmers is now on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
