Make sure you can vote in the general election
There a few deadlines coming up relating to voting in the 2024 general election.
Register to vote by MIDNIGHT on Tuesday 18 June.
Apply for a postal vote by 5pm on Wednesday 19 June.
Apply for a proxy vote by 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024.
Havent got photo ID? Apply for a voter authority certificate by 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024.

New round of grant funding for community groups
If you run a community or voluntary organisation, you can now apply for a grant of between £5,000 and £50,000 from our Community Infrastructure Fund to enhance, modernise and improve your facilities. There's a pot of £500,000 up for grabs and the deadline for the first stage of applications is 5pm on Friday 19 July 2024.

Free nature event for all
Nature enthusiasts of all ages are invited to join our ranger team and Natural Basingstoke to hunt bugs and learn more about nature on Sunday 7 July at Old Down Woodland Park for the Old Down Bioblitz. Meet nature organisations and participate in fun activities including bird walks, monitoring butterflies, wildflower walks, reptile studying and identifying mammal footprints.

Armed Forces Day flag raising
All are welcome to join the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Cllr Dan Putty on Monday 24 June at 10am at the Civic Offices for a flag raising ceremony to show support for the armed forces community, including cadets, reservists, serving personnel, veterans and their families. Basingstoke Festival returns this weekend
The much-loved Basingstoke Festival returns on Friday 21 June with three weekends of performances in Basingstoke town centre and around the borough to kick-off the summer. Running until Sunday 7 July, the festival offers the chance to experience an array of street theatre, outdoor arts, circus, dance and music.
